Andrew Wilkinson Nichols, MD, MPH, was the ideal embodiment of the citizen legislator. He combined his medical and public health knowledge with political savvy and persistence to better the state of Arizona and its citizens. The Andrew W. Nichols Initiative for Rural & Border Health has been founded by the Mel & Enid Zuckerman Arizona College of Public Health to perpetuate Andy's work in public health policy, rural, and border health.
