Here is a listing of current programs housed within the Rural Health Office. Many of our programs have partners within the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health, the Arizona Health Sciences Center, and other organizations or agencies throughout the State of Arizona.

Annual Arizona Rural Health Conference
The longest continuously running rural health conference in the nation brings rural stakeholders together with academicians, researchers, and policy makers.

Annual Arizona Rural Health Policy Forum
Provide a forum for rural health advocates to promote dialogue and impact policy change.

Arizona Critical Access Hospital Program
Stabilize small rural hospitals (designated as Critical Access Hospitals) by providing resources to strengthen infrastructure and encourage network building.

Arizona State Office of Rural Health (SORH) Program
Collection and dissemination of information, provision of technical assistance to rural communities, statewide coordination of resources, encouragement of recruitment and retention of health professionals.

Arizona State Rural Health Plan
Development of a comprehensive rural health plan for Arizona.

Arizona Telemedicine Program (ATP)
Outreach and liaison to rural communities for access to telemedicine consultations and educational programs.

Border Health Strategic Initiative/Border Health ¡Sí!
Program evaluation and technical assistance for university-community coalition to reduce impact of diabetes on the health of individuals and communities in the border region.

Center for Health Equality (CHE)
Dedicated to the eradication of health disparities in Arizona Hispanic and American Indian Populations

Southwest Border Rural Health Research Center
Conducts and disseminates policy-relevant research which addresses health issues that affect the Southwestern United States and the U.S.-Mexico border region
